Strong Polish Presence at Seoul Food & Hotel 2025 in South Korea

The latest edition of the Seoul Food & Hotel trade fair, one of the most important food and beverage trade shows in South Korea and Asia, is taking place in Seoul, South Korea, from 10 to 13 June 2025. The National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) has been participating in the event since 2018 and, in this year’s edition, is organising a national pavilion where 21 Polish entrepreneurs are showcasing their products.

Polish companies are presenting a wide range of food and beverages to partners from Korea and other Asian countries. Under the Poland tastes good banner at the KOWR stand, the following products are being promoted: sweets (including pralines, jelly sweets, fudge, biscuits, chocolate-covered plums, and bars), milk and dairy products, NFC and organic juices, smoothies, functional drinks, ciders, apple snacks, cereal- and chicory-based drinks, herbal infusions, caviar and fish products, pork and pork products, cold cuts, spices, herbs and seeds, groats, flour, ready meals, and food industry ingredients.

The official opening of the national pavilion on 10 June was attended by Bogusław Wijatyk – Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Lucjan Zwolak – Deputy Director General of KOWR, and Paweł Meyer – Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer.

Polish traces are also strongly represented at several other stands at the Seoul fair. Industry organisations and their affiliated businesses are promoting food products on the Korean market through stands set up as part of CAP-funded programmes entitled Support for promotion and information activities on the markets of selected agricultural products, including:

– “A Drop of Perfection. European Milk and High-Quality Dairy Products” – a three-year programme implemented by the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers since April 2025 in the markets of South Korea and Vietnam, promoting milk and dairy products, including cheese;

– “European Poultry – From Our Farms to Your Table” – a three-year programme launched in February 2025 by the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce in the markets of the Philippines, South Korea and Vietnam, promoting poultry meat (fresh, chilled and frozen) and its products;

– “EU Good Food – Good Life” – a three-year multi-country programme coordinated by the Union of Producers and Employers of Meat Industry in cooperation with Greek producers since March 2025 in the markets of the Philippines, South Korea and Vietnam, promoting pork, beef, canned peaches, and fresh kiwifruit.

In addition, Polish food is being promoted at the stand of the Polish Chamber of Milk and its member companies as part of activities financed by the Milk Promotion Fund, as well as at individual exhibitors’ stands.

The Seoul Food & Hotel trade fair is the largest and most significant food industry event in South Korea. In 2024, it attracted 1,603 exhibitors from 51 countries and 53,305 visitors. Polish businesses and industry organisations have been regular participants at the Seoul fair for many years, and this year’s edition confirms the strong interest of Polish companies in the Korean market.

The organiser of Seoul Food & Hotel regards the event as an excellent platform for Korean importers and distributors to discover premium food products from around the world and explore the latest innovations in the food industry. Due to its limited arable land, Korea is a major food importer, particularly of meat (pork and beef), cereals, fish and seafood, as well as various processed food products.

Polish exporters also benefit from a large consumer base in South Korea, where nearly 52 million people are showing increasing demand for high-quality products. Moreover, the EU–South Korea Free Trade Agreement has eliminated most tariffs, including those on agricultural goods. Direct flights between Poland and Seoul further strengthen business ties and reduce the physical distance between the two countries.
