KOWR trade mission to Algeria

On 20–24 October 2025, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Algiers, is organizing a trade mission to Algeria for agri-food companies.  The four-day programme in the Algerian capital will be attended by nine companies looking for new and promising business contacts in the Algerian market.

The Polish companies, which include businesses from the meat industry, cattle breeders and shippers and a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, will be supported at the site in terms of content, organization and logistics by a KOWR delegation headed by Director General Henryk Smolarz and the Polish Embassy in Algiers.

On 20 October this year, the mission participants attended a briefing with market experts on the Algerian agri-food market, discussing issues such as the new Halal certification policy, the meat market in Algeria and meat imports into the country.

In the days following, Polish businessmen will participate in meetings with representatives of the Algerian authorities, including customs authorities, the ministries of agriculture and industry and the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, as well as B2B meetings with companies affiliated to the CREA (Conseil du Renouveau Economique Algérien – Algerian Economic Renewal Council) and representatives of private business and the state-owned MADAR holding company. The essence of Polish-Algerian cooperation was formulated in the speeches of Mr Samir Derradji – Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Promotion of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr Krzysztof Kopytko – Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Algeria and Mr Henryk Smolarz – Director General of the KOWR.

The mission participants will also visit the Agrodiv trading network, the Bellat company and the port of Algiers.
