Another edition of the three-day SIAL Shanghai fair – one of the most important and the largest exhibition events of the food industry in Asia and in the world – was launched on 19 May 2025. The National Support Centre for Agriculture exhibits at this fair for the first time since 2019.
This time our representation in Shanghai includes 12 companies exhibiting under the “Poland tastes good” brand and promoting at the national stand among others: fruit juice concentrates, milk powders, cheeses and other dairy products, fish products, confectionery (fudges, pralines, butterscotches, gummy candies and jellies), pastas, flours, breakfast cereals, semi-products and instant products for the confectionary, bakery and milk sectors.
During the SIAL Shanghai 2025 and accompanying events the KOWR delegation is headed by Henryk Smolarz – Director General of KOWR.
On the day preceding the fair – on 18 May this year – the Polish companies had the opportunity to take part in the visits to 3 local retail chains offering the imported products (Metro/Makro, Just Fresh and ALDI), combined with the meetings with the chain representatives. In addition, on 20 May this year, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai will host a networking meeting organised by the local Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.
In the course of 3 days of fair, the promotional activity of the operators and KOWR is supported by the Polish chefs, serving during the culinary shows the typical meals and snacks of the Polish cuisine to the visitors, including our flagship – the dumplings, various forms of which enjoy high popularity in China.
The SIAL Shanghai fair organised since 2000 is the largest exhibition event of the food sector in China and Asia as a whole. This year’s edition of fair is expected to gather nearly 5 thousand of exhibitors from more than 75 countries and regions and more than 180 thousand professional visitors from the industry from approx. 100 countries. SIAL Shanghai is an important platform for the exporters intending to enter the Chinese market. As each exhibition event of the SIAL group, the Shanghai fair focus also on the new products (SIAL Innovation competition) and presenting the regional products from other regions of the world to the Chinese consumers.
