For the first time since 2018, KOWR is organising a national stand at Canada\u2019s largest food industry fair \u2013 SIAL Canada. This year’s event is taking place between 29 April and 1 May in Montreal. Canada is currently the second-largest export destination for Polish agricultural and food products in the Americas, after the US.<\/p>\n
10 entrepreneurs are promoting their products in Montreal under the banner \u201cPoland tastes good\u201d. Visitors to the Canadian fair can find leading Polish brands and producers of products such as: caviar, fish products, frozen turkey meat and cold cuts, NFC juices, freeze-dried fruit and vegetables, breadsticks and savoury snacks, rice and corn cakes, cereal and breakfast products, pralines, chocolate-coated plums, biscuits, fudge and other sweets, as well as intermediate products for the dairy and confectionery industries.<\/p>\n
The official opening of the Polish stand was attended by Jan Szopi\u0144ski, Deputy Director General of KOWR, and Izabela Fabja\u0144ska-Potapczuk, Consul General for Poland in Montreal.<\/p>\n

Agricultural and food exports from Poland to Canada are growing steadily, boosted by the CETA agreement (the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the European Union and Canada), which has removed tariffs on over 90% of agricultural and food products. Thanks to the CETA agreement, which provisionally entered into force on 21 September 2017, European (including Polish) businesses can market their products in Canada under preferential terms. The CETA agreement covers, among other things: the simplification of customs procedures, the mutual recognition of certificates and technical standards, easier access to public procurement markets, and the protection of geographical product marks and intellectual property.<\/p>\n
In 2025, exports of Polish agricultural and food products to Canada reached a record \u20ac143 million, doubling in value over the past 10 years (in 2015, the figure stood at \u20ac 72 million). Canadian buyers were most keen to purchase the following goods in Poland last year:<\/p>\n
