On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, the 51st edition of Foodex Japan, one of the most important trade fairs in the food industry in Asia, started in Tokyo, Japan. The National Agricultural Support Centre (KOWR), which organised a promotion of Polish food for the seventh time under the slogan \u2018Poland tastes good\u2019, was a key entity present at the fair.<\/p>\n
The official opening of the Polish stand was attended by Adam Nowak \u2013 Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jan Szopi\u0144ski \u2013 Deputy Director General of the KOWR, and Pawe\u0142 Milewski \u2013 Polish Ambassador to Tokyo.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s national stand features 38 businesses offering a wide range of Polish food and drink. Visitors to the fair will be able to meet producers of, amongst other things, dairy products, fruit and vegetable preserves, juices, alcoholic beverages, poultry, confectionery, breakfast foods, bakery products, cold meats and savoury and sweet snacks. The promotional campaign is supported by Polish chefs, who serve visitors dishes and snacks from Polish cuisine during cooking demonstrations.<\/p>\n
Foodex Japan is the most prestigious trade fair in Japan\u2019s food industry, attracting numerous exhibitors and visitors from around the world every year. The previous edition attracted a record number of over 2,930 exhibitors, most of whom were from abroad, as well as over 76,000 visitors. This trade fair is an excellent opportunity to establish and strengthen business relationships with potential partners from Japan and other countries in Asia and the Pacific.<\/p>\n
In 2025, exports of Polish agri-food products to Japan reached a value of EUR 80.6 million. Poland is one of the leading EU exporters of beef to the demanding Japanese market.<\/p>\n
Last year, Japanese business partners were most keen to buy the following products in Poland:
\n– red meat (mainly frozen beef) \u2013 21%;
\n– tobacco and tobacco products \u2013 10%;
\n– fish and fish products \u2013 10%;
\n– animal feed products \u2013 9%;
\n– fruit and vegetable juices \u2013 9%;
\n– grain and flour products \u2013 7%;
\n– coffee, tea \u2013 6%;
\n– fruit preserves \u2013 5%;
\n– dairy products \u2013 4%;
